Our Principles

Transparency, Equality, Professionalism

Our Philosophy

One of the core components of any company are its employees. The economic value people bring to your organization is vital to your success. At Mercato Consulting we focus on keeping business owners, key executives and employees secure and motivated by establishing stability. By mitigating the effects of employee absenteesim and turnover we can help you establish more confidence in your organization. Understanding that behind the numbers and statistics are people, families, spouses, children, parents and grandparents is just as important. Our commitment and loyalty is to your business while maintaining consideration and protection for the people that make it viable.

Whether it’s employee benefits, group retirement/pension or owner/executive insurance, we strive to help keep your company and employees, current or retired, stable by navigating uncharted waters that may lie ahead. By reducing employee absenteeism you will have more time to focus on maintaining and growing your business, while avoiding unnecessary costs and potential labour shortage. Establishing a comprehensive benefits package and retirment plan, will attract and retain top talent while avoiding losing them to your competitors. Fostering a stronger relationship with your employees by establishing  mutual loyalty is a cornerstone with any successful business.

We can select the benefits you and your employees need and eliminate the ones you don't which will bring costs down.

Adam has worked in the Financial Services sector for 15 years. He studied at the University of Guelph at Humber College where he earned an Honors BA degree in Media Studies and a Diploma in Journalism - Print and Broadcast. After finishing university he began working at Scotia bank as a bank teller as well as a weekend reporter at Rogers Television. From there he was hired by Pace Consulting where daily tasks included making cold calls, objection handling, booking meetings, quoting, selling and managing groups under the tutelage of senior partners, managers and eventually independently. He then joined ADP offering payroll integration with employee benefits while supporting management in analyzing metrics and data regarding potential opportunities, quotes, sales targets and booking meetings.

Always looking to improve he sought greater knowledge in the industry and was fortunate to work for The Co-operators. This was a unique opportunity to work for a Co-operative which sold more on their value and ethics as an organization while managing a third of Ontario. As an account executive he was responsible for negotiating proposals, & renewals and recommending plan design changes based on empirical data. His next move was to Manulife in a similar role on a much larger scale where he was able to work with both well established advisors and those with a focus on other products. This gave him the opportunity to help sell, manage and renew groups with these advisors as well as make recommendations for changes when necessary. Working for both a brokerage firm and insurance provider of small and large scales has allowed him to become very well rounded and has led him to where he is today as an independent consultant. He has his CLU, CEBS, CHS and is finishing his CFP in the Summer of 2024.
